Art Deco Festival: Footlight Parade

Synopsis

1933 musical comedy FOOTLIGHT PARADE is a splashy, fun celebration of big-scale stage productions, while employing all the technical razzle-dazzle the newly invented talkies had to offer.

Broadway musical director Chester Kent (James Cagney) gets sidelined by the aforementioned talkies into producing “prologues”, short musical performances presented in cinemas before the main feature. When Kent’s ideas get stolen, he devises a new plan to stage three spectacular shows featuring a plethora of chorus girls and dancers presenting fantastically elaborate choreographies.
