Synopsis
Three times Oscar-nominated film CAREFREE (1938) reunites Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire in a musical screwball comedy with songs by Irving Berlin. Centring upon a love-struck psychiatrist (Astaire) and his beautiful patient (Rogers) who can’t decide between her impatient fiancé and her doctor, CAREFREE is perhaps the funniest movie the famous duo ever made together.
Dance numbers include Since They Turned Loch Lomond Into Swing with a dashingly dressed Astaire hitting golf balls while dancing, I Used to Be Color Blind ending in a rather long on-screen kiss (a rarity in a Ginger & Fred movie), and goofy, but iconic, The Yam.
